ARCHIVES: L. Patrice Latimer, OSU’s First African-American SGA President

L. Patrice Latimer was a highly visible student leader on the Oklahoma State University campus in the early 1970s. She was active in many organizations including Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and Mortar Board, but she probably is most remembered for her history-making participation in student government. In 1973 she was elected the first African-American President of the OSU Student Government Association. In this oral history interview excerpt from the O-STATE Stories oral history collection, Latimer looks back on the election process.
